About Domain Names:

There are quite a few sites where you can register/buy a domain name. The considerations I think are important are Privacy (so every spammer out there can't message you, nor can random people know what your address is if you work from home), friendly and efficient Support, and a Valet service available - all included in the price.

My choice, hands down, is
About Hosting:

Hosting is where this can get a little complicated. For that reason, Support and Valet Services are really important. I recommend you keep your host separate from your registrar. Google is cracking down on security so being able to access a free SSL certificate - or knowing that your host plays nicely with third party security companies such as Cloudflare - is really important.
